Ic- Racing winds swayed across the fair lands, stalks of grass bending over and the calm, cool waters of the local river rippled from the breeze. Viridescent leaves of the both deciduous and coniferous whipped their way through the wind, as if being toyed with by some anonymous creature. The heavens above were a ebony night, as blanched clouds drifted slowly across its wide, open space.
Yet, through the wind came another being. His dark brown and tan fur stayed flat against his musculer bod as he traveled smoothly and gracefully: as the wolf does. He blinked often, the winds bringing dust into his golden orbs. The wild grasses below his large, swift paws was flattened for a few moments, only to be whipped up wards again.
Perked auds swiveled to catch every resonance, every echo in the appropriate radius of his hearing. His ebony nose twitched with each scent, recognizing it as prey.
Yet, the hunt was on. The unfortunate moose calf had been separated from its herd, while passing through the valley as they sought out more bountiful lands. The fresh markings of the land of a pack were enough to send the large creatures into a stampede. The calf had been separated from its mother and wounded, as it hobbled slowly, its back leg trailing limply behind. The scent of blood and a fresh kill had met the keen senses of the newcomer.
His hunger and strength drove him on, until the pitiful moose was in his close-ranged view. Snarling, fangs bared and claws unsheathed, he was to use his cunning to put it out of its misery.
He leaped, sinking his ivories into the wounded limb. Its cries reached the brujo's auditories, filled with agony and fear. Its blood tasted sweet upon his tongue. He narrowly avoided a swift kick as he let go, ready to inflict more damage. It could hardly move, its own eyes half closed from pain. He circled around it, seeking out its blind spots and went for his final move: its throat.
His aim was true and he found his jaws clamped around the vocals of the calf. It struggled wildly for its life and the male even had a few cuts inflicted from its flailing hooves. But, it began to suffocate, as it ran out of breath. The male wolf growled proudly at his kill, beginning to gorge himself upon the dead calf.
Had others except wolves been around, they would have thought the act cruel. It was truely just. The calf would have died soon, from the infection that would grow in its leg. He had stopped its misery, and fed himself. These thoughts never occurred to him. The wolf did what it had to do. He was a predator and he could do nothing to change it.
After a while, wolf had gorged himself full upon the carcass. A good half remained of it, but he would have gobbled it up, 'cept, the savangers need some thing to eat.
After unmatting all the blood from his muzzle's fur, he placed his head up to the starry sky, emitted a howl to others to tell his exact location after feeding upon their land and a thanks in it too.

Wandering wearily into the Avilik territory, Deoren heard a howl close by. Following it, he came upon the lone wolf and approached with caution. He still bore a minor wound with his last encounter with a strange wolf, and he reminded himself that he was no longer the lead pup of the alphas' litter, her was a trespasser on another's territory. "Hello," he said politely. Stomach growling, he chanced a glance at the moose carcass.

Another wolf made their way across the edges of the territory, sprinting until her speed captured her as a white dart across the lands. Her senses, however, stopped her; there were new wolves upon the land. Quickly stopping herself, she took her duty as Alphess to search them out, nose to the wind as she searched for the owner of the strange scent, and omnious howl.
As she spied them...Yes...There were two of them, she checked her stance, making sure her dominence was ultimatly known, before she approached them quickly, and with a loud bark of attention.
The wolven looked at each of the tresspassers in session, giving them each a welcoming look, to show she wasn't as hostile as stance appeared, though she kept a firm tone.
"Do you know who's land you come upon?"

Deoren turned swiftly to face the alphess, his ears lying flat against his head. He swiftly looked over the female, guessing from her stance that she was a wolf of high status. Lowering himself slightly into a submissive posture, her aproached the female, trying to avoid limping, and thereby showing his weakness. He'd been in enough fights lately, and he hated both being injured and hurting others who were only trying to defend their pack. "No," Deoren replied in a level tone. "But I would if you'd be so kind as to tell me."

No matter how much one tried; it was nearly impossible to hide something as prominent as a limp. Nodding lightly, she looked over the lands she was upon, then back at him, golden eyes glistening with pride as she did so. She was so greatful for these lands..
But, that was for another time. Zenny quickly spoke up.
"These lands are the lands of Avalik, territory of Cricket and myself." She said firmly, taking note of his injuries; it would be heartless to let him off into the wilderness with it once more/

"I am called Deoren," he said to both of the wolves. Realizing that the alphess wasn't going to hurt him--at least not at the moment--he sat down in front of her, waiting for her to relply.

Kodiac's gray and white tainted muzzle retreated from the indigo sky swiftly, it was too hot for one to waste precious breath on an extended howl. His mouth did not remain shut for longer than a few weary seconds as his pink tongue with a rift down it's center poked through like a tiny prey animal checking to see if the coast was clear before scurrying off across an open field such as this. Panting once more, Kodiac remained seated as his auric eyes roved the river as far as his they could snatch, which to his regret was hardly more than four feet due to the lack of sleep.
Several moments passed by without a word for either wolf nor fluttering owl, which had plummeted out of the sky to attack at a fleeing mice for a meal.
Still, more silence fell upon the wolf's ears except for the occasional cackling of the prairie's weeds as they grazed their fellow plant neighbors. His thoughts roamed the possibility no one had heard him. What if the owl had lied? No. He can't lie. He's too bad at such a fault. His mind assured himself. Becoming dazed by the dancing blur in front of his eyes, Kodiac lay down, feeling the explainable need to rest. In the farthest depth of his complex mind, a trace of resistance materialized. If he went to sleep, he would become an easy target for anything who thought they could devour him effortlessly. So, the wolf grudgingly kept his head lifted and away from the desired destination of the top of his oyster printed paws.
Yawning from boredom, Kodiac glanced about the meadow once more. He spied nothing but snakes... There was a patch of piled auburn dirt here and there, evidently the home of a wild gopher, and... some more snakes.
As a male emerged, finally, Kodiac felt a satisfactory releif spread throughout his multi-painted body.
He raised himself into a more, attractible look since he was being greeted by the loner and he wished himself to be presentable to those who were high ranked, which he didn't know that he was a loner.
Dipping his head into an unmistakeable bow of due respect, kodiac temporarily forgot the heat of the fire blasting sun that hung itself as the only ornament in the sky as nothing seemed brave enough to try it's power during the day. Those who craved to be out without being shunned away, sought to be cloaked in the darkness of night.
As his head reeled back onto his sturdy shoulders, a smiled approached his maw.
"I'm Kodiac, and I sought to join the land." He spoke with a passive air, kind, but somewhere hidden, a note that said not to be tested. He glanced upwards as a hawk soared into his veiw and lingured in the sky above himself, and the newly met fea, Zenny. Interest lingured in his orbs for a breif moment, until he realised that he was seeing the presence of another.
"Do you know who's land you come upon?"
When Kodiac was going to ask who's land he stepped on, Deoren beat him to it. His auds twitched at the answer Zenny told Deoren and Kodiac, a smile appearing on his face.
"May I join this beautiful land of yours and Cricket? It has plentiful of food and kind, beautiful wolves. And by the way, I'm Kodiac." Kodiac asked for permission, his tassel wagging.
"And, it's very nice to meet you, Deoren."

Zenny smiled gracefully at them, taking in their humble airs with her own respect torward their manners. Her tail wagged lightly, and her bright eyes traveled across the land, before settling unto them once more. They seemed like no threat, and would be good additions to the pack, seeing as the females were running abundant, as of now. Keeping both of them in her watchful veiw, she nodded lightly in response to Kodiac's question.
"A pleasure Kodiac, Deoren. Truely. And you have my word to roam these lands without accusation."

"Thank you," Deoren said gratefully, still half-expecting her to lunge at him and try to rip his throat out. "You wont be sorry." His stomach rumbling, he glanced again at the meat lying on the ground, and then from one wolf to the other, wondering which had claim to it and hoping they'd let him have some. It was winter and food was scarce, most of it having migrated to warmer lands or burrowed into thier holes to wait out the long, cold season.

Ic- Kodiac's rough and neraly parched tongue still lingured out of his mouth, and a drop of saliva dribbled from his pink sponge and splattered onto the loose dirt ground. Another wave of wind twinged the river of long auburn grasses that reflected against the moon's light to form a shimmer of white along their fringes. An insect, unsure of what kind, was buzzing around the grasses and began making it's progess towards him. The bug landed upon his left ears, but only caused the wolf's immediate reaction to flicker it, and send the buzzing insect on it's way again.
Heat pounded along the back of his dark fur and sweat began to re-emerge along his body and sent his pelt into a sleek glisten.
His orbs locked onto Zenny as she spoke. When the mention of being here was no problem into his ears and registered the fact into his mind, Kodiac was more than delighted to move in the direction of the river. He grinned wearily and nodded his satisfaction and eagerness to get moving.
"Thanks." He muttered to Zenny.
Turning golden optics back to the river, he waited for the river's words to except him to join a small swim. About to take the first step in the direction of the river he was eager about, he bowed down in respect, and nodded to Deoren that he could have some of his kill.
"Please just ask next time. I don't want to make you wait and starve during the whole introducing. And Zenny, you may have some to eat too, if you want," he replied before jumping into the Rattlesnake River.
When the cool sensation touched his skin, his mitts spread out, revealing his webbed toes, and his tail changed into a runner tail. This is an effect of being a Hydro wolf, if you master most of all the skills.

"Thank you," Deoren replied in his deep voice as Kodiac turned and lept into the river. Looking over at the alphess, he waited for her to eat first. Hopefully there would be some left, but he didn't begrudge the fae her right to eat first. If there wasn't enough to satisfy him when she was done he could attempt to dig some small animal out of thier deep winter sleep.

Zenny, who was also quite hungry; took advantage of her high rank for once. Not having eaten since the rabbit-hunt with Almira a couple days ago, she herself was famished. She smiled approvingly at Deoren's manners, and Kodiac's gratitude, then bent down, pulling and ripping at the carcass. It was still somewhat warm to the touch, despite the surrounding winter conditions, and each shred of meat hit the bottom of her stomach pleasently.
Looking up halfway through her induglance, she observed the meat left. There was still quite a bit; and she could have easily eaten it on the spot, but her hunger was content, and one did not always have to feel sickeningly full after a meal. She backed away, letting the tresspasser take the rest, which would certainly acount for a fair meal.

His ears twiching, Deoren bowed his head gratefully and moved foward to eat. It had been quite a while, and he quickly devoured the calf, his tail waving with pleasure. Turning, he sat down in front of the alpha and looked closely at the fae. "Thank you," he said again. "I was famished."

Zenny smiled graciously torward him, nodding understandingly. "I know how tough it is to find food when you're alone." She said lightly, looking out over the borders of the Avalik lands. They were misted over, with the oncoming stormclouds, but she knew the tough life that lay behind these wanderers. She herself had been out on her own for the longest time, which had caused so many mishaps in her life...
Trailing off, she turned her mind back to her life now; comfortable and powerful. The past must be put behind you.
