Emerald eyes gazed about momentarily, the figure halting on the spot to drink in the unfamiliar view of a new terrain. Paws had been previously hitting the earth at an impact that the figure had not cared about at all, yet now, something made the paw steps become more gentle, no sound emitting from the collision, and imprints left behind small. Eyes directed back on the set course, before the paws went back into action again. Cautious action, forced by the figures mind. Not a usual way to traipse into a terra, yet the figure did, in fact, do so.
A dull charcoal black spot from a distance. No, a black blur. Yet, from up close, it was obvious what this creature really was... what this figure from far off had looked like was much different than up close. Now emerald green eyes belonged to a wolf; no, a fea, in more exact terms. Yes, female. Her fur meant to be a mixture of bold blacks and sandy brown with a shining pelt that reflected the light, but not anymore. From continuous wandering of the land, no matter how rough the terrain, her pelt had gathered dirt and dust, making it lose its glossy sheen, and she had not bothered to clean it off. Too lazy. Or even memories. Memories from cleaning? What could possibly lead off from that?
A mother, of course... a caring mother that cared for your existence like nothing else in the universe. As long as you were there, she would be as happy as can be, always smiling with pearly white canines showing as her lips curled in the familiar grin. When away, she would wait intently for your return, to see your face again...
This was starting to turn into more of a memory, than an answer to the question, but that was how grooming could effect his own thoughts, triggering the memory of some time ago...
She had wandered from the den, from her mother's eye once again, only wishing to be alone for a while... not with the crowd of pack squabling siblings, and an overprotective mother... Yet, as it seemed, it was not time for this, and she was soon collected up, loose skin gripped in her mother's jaw... what to gain? A purely clean pelt...
Yet, that only lastd while she was young. Once she had grown into a young femora, her relationship with her mother had entirely changed. Yet the female did not only consist of the black-flecked--with-dirt pelt. Her forepaws were dipped in an sandy brown, a light colour, which faded into a lighter brown once reaching her ankles, and this faded again into the black.
Now emerald eyes were still directed closely on the path she had chosen to take, weaving her way through confusing ways, instead of going purely straight. Paws halted abruptly, the fae skidding to a stop, surprised at herself. Now... there was a decision to make here... what would she choose to do? Saunter about this area for a while, and wait to be confronted? Go on, and risk an attack? Or give off a howl, to be confronted by another earlier, and saving some patience? At the moment, she was quite unsure...
After a while, she decided she'd just wait to be confronted... if she howled, there was still a chance of an attack, and, this way, she would only come upon one wolf. And, if they were dangerous, she'd be able to handle it much easier...
The female slumped to the ground, paws splaying out, tassel flicking as if to try find interest in something for the time she had to wait. Her emotionless eyes gazed about the terra, collecting every detail. Another decision appeared in her brain. Pack, or rest... But she already had a plan for that one too... one to bide her time before truly making it.
Which of course could become overly confusing.
OoC|| The intro I typed up when I was smoking crack when I was bored. ^^ Hehe. I always have to bring some type of corny humor in. I am not a druggy, so do not worry.

A white wolf trotted along a path in the forest, made by deer walking along it for generations. Her ears perked and aware, she slowed to a walk with no particular purpose in mind. As she neared the edge of the forest she picked up the scent of a wolf, yet another trespasser. Her ears folded back against her head as she examined the stocky female.
The small wolf came out of the shadows, approaching the other fae. "Welcome," she said, though her stance was tense and mildly threatening. "I am called Almira."

In the greyish light of approaching morning, Artemis' eyes became accustomed to the shadows and the slim shapes of the grass blades around her, the way they rippled like liquid silver in the wind and brushed on her slender legs. She found that the misty shapes and the swaying of grass lulled her into a rhythm, and the stroking motion that occasinally touched her forelegs made her feel calmer, almost as if she wanted to sleep. She had not rested properly in so long, it seemed, and what better place?
'Stupid! What better place indeed!' Her brain screamed at her, and her eyelids snatched themselves back from her eyes as she shook her head abruptly, ears standing up again. None too soon, either, for the eyes of a graceful, beautiful she-wolf met with her own in a moment, and the alphess's scent wafted into her nose again, more prominent than before. This must be the alpha, then. To think she had considered sleeping! What kind of impression would that make? She supposed it was because she was so tantalizingly close. This time it would be right, she could feel the boding of it singing in her bones.
The wolf spoke - Almira was her name- she nodded attentively to show hse was listening. That was an intruiging name, but she didn't stop to wonder on it for too long.
"Saluations, Lady Almira. My dubbng is Artemis, and my business on your lands.. well, I thought I would like to join your pack is all."
She said with a bow that took her nose close to the ground, her eyes looking up to read her expression and gauge what she should do next. Different lands had different expectancies for pack Wolves. The air stirred gently again, ruffling her fur around the wiry frame, and she shifted her large paws on the ground, her long tail touching her belly and her breath stirring up a miniature tornado of dust like the wind stirred her pelt as she waited.
"I don't suppose you can help me in the matter?"

((*sigh* Your beautiful long posts make me feel rather sad. Ah well. By the way, you might want to read the eleventh rule. Personally I don't mind, but it's not my site. ))
Almira relaxed slightly, sitting down in front of the fae. She seemed nice enough, and Almira tended to go with her first impressions. And she reminded herself that not so long ago she, too, was a trespasser, vainly looking for a place to stay and being attacked for passing through another's teritory. Realizing that she had drifted off for a moment, she turned her attention back to the wolf in front of her. "A pleasure, Artemis," she replied. "And as for joining the pack, you will have to speak with one of the alphas." Looking closely at the fae, she noticed her eyelids drooping. "If you wish for a safe place to sleep, you are welcome to come to the dens. No one will--" she caught herself, not wanting to make promises on behalf of others. "No one should harm you."

Artemis nodded, smiling calmly. A small shuckle was trailing the thought. The kindness was merely a mask, a ticket to find her way into the pack. truth be told, you Artemis here wasn't good with pack life, and until she would be fully trusted, she'd act all happy dappy. In truth, she is far from it.
Only a terrible past of sorts is what left her thoughts mixed, heart scarred, and body marked with old injuries. Her black pelt rippled as she stared into the eyes of the lovely femora before her, a sigh emitting her mouth once she allowed her smile to dissipate.
"Thanky you... Almira," she replied. She allowed memories to go through her mind. She remembered her mother, her friends, yelling... and then blood. She stopped remembering because... her heart hurt.
With the dip of her crown, she began to slowly pad off, asking one faint question.
"May I go out for a hunt, or should I report to the dens first? I am... tired and hunger has eaten at me for a while now."

Almira watched the trespasser with barely conceiled suspicion, her ears going back slightly. She was usually fairly sure of a wolf's character, but was having a hard time figuring this one out. She was always uncomfortable around unknown wolves, and only thinking back to when she was a loner kept her from attacking them on sight.
"The alpha's shouldn't mind if you hunt. If you like I'll show you to the dens," Almira told her, wishing that the alphas didn't allow trespassers there even as she said it.
